That’s why Pure Property Management holds accreditation with the leading regulatory and membership bodies covering the Scottish lettings industry. Each accreditation represents an independent check on how we work — from client money protection and legal compliance to the standard of service you can expect from us as your Edinburgh letting agent.
Below, you’ll find each of our accreditations and what it means for you as a landlord or tenant.
Propertymark (ARLA)
Pure Property Management is a member of Propertymark, the UK’s leading professional body for letting and estate agents, formerly known as ARLA (the Association of Residential Letting Agents). Propertymark membership means we operate under a strict Client Money Protection scheme, follow an industry Code of Conduct, and carry professional indemnity insurance. It also means our staff are required to keep their industry knowledge current through ongoing training, so you’re dealing with agents who genuinely understand lettings legislation — not just people who’ve read the brochure.
Landlord Accreditation Scotland (LAS)
Landlord Accreditation Scotland is the national accreditation body for landlords and letting agents in Scotland, backed by the Scottish Government and local authorities. Our accreditation with LAS confirms that we meet recognised standards for managing tenancies, maintaining safe properties, and understanding Scottish housing law — including the Private Housing (Tenancies) (Scotland) Act. For landlords, this means peace of mind that your property is being managed to a nationally recognised benchmark.
Council of Letting Agents (CLA)
As members of the Council of Letting Agents, we adhere to a code of practice designed specifically for the lettings sector, covering everything from tenant referencing to handling deposits and complaints. CLA membership sits alongside our other accreditations as another layer of assurance that our processes are built around fairness, transparency, and compliance — not shortcuts.
Scottish Association of Landlords (SAL)
The Scottish Association of Landlords is Scotland’s largest membership organisation for landlords and letting agents. Our membership keeps us directly connected to the latest changes in Scottish rental law, licensing requirements, and best practice guidance, so our advice to landlords is never out of date. SAL membership also reflects our commitment to representing landlords’ interests professionally and responsibly.
Safe Deposits Scotland (SDS)
All deposits we hold on behalf of landlords are protected through Safe Deposits Scotland, one of the three government-approved tenancy deposit schemes in Scotland. This is a legal requirement, not an optional extra — but we mention it here because it matters: your tenant’s deposit is held securely and independently, and any disputes at the end of a tenancy are resolved fairly through SDS’s free adjudication service.
The Property Ombudsman (TPOS)
We are members of The Property Ombudsman scheme, an independent redress service for the property industry. If a landlord or tenant ever feels a complaint hasn’t been resolved to their satisfaction through our own process, TPOS provides a free, impartial route to have that complaint reviewed. It’s a safety net we’re glad to offer, even though we’d always rather sort things out directly with you first.
